About this episode

This week, we’re getting deep into using voice to enhance the gaming experience, with Anything World founder, Gordon Midwood.

Gordon is a serial game designer and voice first enthusiast. After working on game design and development at EA Sports, and having built his own games through his company, Different Cloth, Gordon found voice through his current role as Technical Director at Rehab, where he’s worked on building Alexa skills for brands. His love of gaming and voice have culminated in Anything World, which could change the way people play games on any device.

In this episode, we chat to Gordon about designing and developing voice interactions as part of a gaming experience, the similarities and differences between voice for gaming and voice more generally, and the challenges he’s faced in creating an app that lets the user literally ask for anything!
